Package Overview

The circuit MBTS built for the traveller whose idea of a good morning involves a helmet, not a hotel breakfast buffet. Kalimpong to Algarah to Mairung to Duka Valley to Lava to Rishop — every one of these roads winds, climbs, and rewards a rider with more corners than a highway ever will. Homestays here double as the day's finish line, not a tourist stop.

Package Highlights

Kalimpong–Algarah Riding Stretch
Mairung Waterfall (7 Steps Falls)
Duka Valley Village Trail
Lava Monastery & Neora Valley Boundary Road
Rishop / Tiffin Dara Sunset Ride
Sangchen Dorjee Monastery

Day-by-Day Itinerary (6 days)

1
Private Cab (support vehicle for the ride ahead)

Places to Visit: Kalimpong Main Bazaar, Deolo Hill. An easy arrival day to settle riders in, check the bikes, and walk through Kalimpong’s Main Bazaar before taking in the evening view from Deolo Hill. Rest well tonight—the ridge roads begin tomorrow.

Overnight stay: Homestay — Kalimpong
2
Self-ride / Private Cab

Places to Visit: Sangchen Dorjee Monastery, Algarah junction viewpoint, Mairung forest edge. The first real riding stretch takes you on a winding climb through Algarah’s pine belt, past the Sangchen Dorjee Monastery and the Algarah junction viewpoint, into Mairung—a hamlet most cab-only travellers never reach. Evening is spent by the fire with your homestay hosts, boots off and bikes parked.

Overnight stay: Homestay — Mairung
3
Self-ride

Places to Visit: Mairung waterfall (7 Steps Falls), Duka Valley village trail, Local farm walk. A full riding day loops out to Duka Valley and back, with a stop at Mairung’s Seven Steps Falls along the way. Take a walk through the village trail and a nearby farm before returning to your homestay—this is backroad riding at its purest, narrow and almost entirely traffic-free.

Overnight stay: Homestay — Mairung
4
Self-ride

Places to Visit: Lava Monastery, Neora Valley boundary road. A longer riding day through denser forest brings you into Lava, where the roads sharpen into proper Himalayan switchbacks along the Neora Valley boundary road. Visit the monastery in the evening—for most riders, its bells are the first sound heard after switching off the engine.

Overnight stay: Homestay — Lava
5
Self-ride

Places to Visit: Rishop / Tiffin Dara viewpoint, Neora Valley forest road loop. The signature ride of this circuit takes you from Lava to Rishop and back, through some of the tightest, most scenic corners in the Kalimpong hills. Watch the sunset from Tiffin Dara before looping back through the Neora Valley forest road to your Lava homestay.

Overnight stay: Homestay — Lava
6
Self-ride / Private Cab

Places to Visit: Kalimpong brief stop. The final descent passes back through Kalimpong towards the plains—five nights, five distinct riding stretches, and roads most travel itineraries never let a rider actually use.

Overnight stay: N/A (Departure)
